i'm back and cybermonday?

I was beside myself when my Marble Champ quilt from way back when Red Letter Day came out, came home to me. When you do a quilt for a line, it is usually on tour till the fabric isn't technically for sale anymore... although, I did hear whisperings of the fact there Andover still has some skus of Red Letter Day, if that means anything to any shops...

Anyway. I am moved. My place is very sweet, and very drafty. I am still getting set up, and I feel like I won't really be back on my feet until everything is in its place. I will post more pictures, and even a little video when everything is the way it should be!

I had written out this elaborate post yesterday, with cute interviews from some of my bloggy peeps about why they blogged, and what type they were... and originally, they were going to be posted every day from the time I posted the contest, until the time I announced the winners.

First the internet went out

then I made some major decisions, and had some major incredible conversations and needed space away from the computer

One last pattern!

 

We all knew that the Bard was a ham.... so here he is in the Limelight.

This mini quilt is a great little project for any level of embroiderer & quilter! It's really a great scrap buster too, and would make a really great gift! I'll put it up in the shop and it should start shipping on Monday! Pattern includes instructions to embroider by Nicole of Follow the White Bunny, Quilting instructions by this one (points at self), along with detailed illustrations, a DMC floss guide and an iron on transfer! With this pattern, you will be well on your way to whipping these out for everyone you know.

I've tested the iron transfers and you can get a good 4 transfers out of it! Pretty sweet!

I am so excited that everything is coming together. I will have you know that this has taken much longer than I planned for, but everything looks great! You will be happy to know that each quilt pattern has 8 pages and is full color. They include very easy to follow instructions, very specific details along with quilting suggestions!

If you have ordered a quilt pattern it will ship by Thursday, and if you ordered an embroidery pattern it will ship by Monday!

Little Shop, Little Shop of Patterns.

You can sing my title to the tune of "Little Shop of Horrors"... one of my all time favorite musicals. I played Ronette...

But this is just a friendly notification that my little pattern store is open. The patterns are on pre-sale right now, and will be shipped as soon as they arrive. Sovereign Picnic

I had been waiting to get the perfect picture of this quilt... then I decided that I wasn't so concerned with perfect, I was concerned with my self imposed deadline. Luckily, in my opinion, they were able to meet up in the middle.

So with my skills, and Melissa's skills combined... we got a really cool shot. Melissa made the dress and modeled and I made the quilt, cut the watermelon into cubes, laid out the quilt and shouted directions in 105 degree pre-rain weather. I don't know if it actually started raining after we shot, but it was pretty threatening before. The sun really worked to our advantage! I know you aren't really supposed to shoot at noon, but I didn't mind rotating. And we House's know how to model in direct sunlight with our eyes open. We live on the wild side, obviously. Anyway, it made the pictures seem like I was using a really intense flash, which was cool and also gave them a vintage kind of feel.

I was happy. And I hope you are happy.

Props for the shoot. These are my favorite dishes I own. I found the whole set at the Boutique Salvation Army right by the Costco in Portland last summer. 24 pieces for $14. I recall on that day my friend Darcy bought not one, but 2 Teddy Rupskin's.

These are some of my favorite shots. Also, this is a peek at our back yard, and a wake up call for the peeps who still think Texas is a desert.

Something I owe you.

Ok. I owed these to you in June. Squam, surgery, sisters, birthdays, and summer kept me from you, and in turn you from them. Here is the first round of a not so sneak peeks. Round two tomorrow, if I am lucky.

Last day of Camp

Hi everyone,

Today is the last day of Castle Peeps Summer Camp. Thankfully there won't have to be any tearful goodbyes. Instead you just get to look back and reflect, make, or be inspired by all the great projects that were contributed to CPSC this summer.
