I decided that this will be the year that I focus:
the year that I stop playing at business and start really building
the year that I stop dreaming about my future and make it my present
the year that I stop thinking about making something and I just sit down and make it
the year that I write a book for a major publisher
the year that I stop waiting for anything or person to validate my work/ life/ career.
I think that we tend to forget just how much control we have over our lives because we are constantly presented with situations that we feel are out of our control. Also we feel like there just isn't any time to get anything done.
So what are some things that we can do to take our time back?
For me this means ridding my life of distractions. When I realize that something is contributing to the void, I'm going to zap it.
Netflix, gone. Deleted my account yesterday, and YOU ALL KNOW how much I love Netflix. But instant play was keeping me from my own thoughts, and keeping me from getting to sleep.
Facebook, almost gone. But no more Zuma OR Bejeweled Blitz. Someone, for once in their life, might have a chance of beating my scores.
Twitter... we're gonna walk a fine line. It's one of those things that I feel so attached to so I am constantly checking it. I need to give myself a twitter schedule.
And anything else that crosses my busy little path, it's gonna get zapped.
So there you have it. This year is going to be a good year, because it isn't allowed to be anything else.
What say ye?
ps. still some news to come later today...
