I want to thank Barbara Brandeburg for giving me a shout out. I met her last summer while I was doing "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown," with her daughter Katie. We all went out to eat after the closing friday show, and I was helping our friend Nik design a signature. He is a really great singer song writer and he had an awful signature. So we were asking people which ones they liked best, telling them to circle which ones worked, and Barbara said, "You should take this to the Graphic Design department," and I said, "I do graphic design," and she said that she like to use photoshop and illustrator and I said that's all I use, and I guess she must have asked me what I wanted to do, and I said, "I want to design fabric. My Mom is a quilter and all I ever wanted to do was design fabric."
I swear her jaw dropped. I believe it was a little divine intervention, getting the two of us together at some resturaunt after that show. I wasn't even supposed to be there, because my Dad was in town to see the show, and I needed to do something with him, but I knew for some reason that I needed to go with everyone to eat. It was Barbara. We had so much fun, finally someone was speaking my language, the language of my house, the way we speak at home. It was great. She was great and it has really affected me.
She has been such a support to me, and she really has saved me sometimes with her encouragement. So she is someone that I truly admire, and I am so grateful that Charlie Brown was cast just the way that it was cast and Katie and I have become great friends, and we all ended up at dinner together.
I will put up some Charlie Brown stuff up later.
