We love color, I love color, you love color...what a celebration of color, and of Robert Kaufman's amazing selection of Kona Cotton Solids. Words can't describe my love for these fabrics, and all the choices of color that are available. And, while it seems too good to be true they RK is introducing 28 new colors...be still my heart!
One of the new colors is Wisteria...I love it!
How would you use this color? Something totally Springy I think!
My favorite Kona color is Cerise...or Cherry in French...fitting, don't you think?
The quilt that I created for We Love Color is called Centered, a very sentimental story about my life years ago. While I don't have any sneak peaks for you (I'm out of state visiting a brand new grandbaby), I promise it is worth tracking down the book to take a look.
Where do you find inspiration for color? For me...it is everything, and everything! Leave a comment, and on June 18th I will have a giveawsay for a copy of We Love Color, and a bundle of the new colors!!!
xoxo,
Cherri
I am inspired by anything that catches my attention in the world around me.

There are so many places to be inspired by colour, just looking out the window at the changing landscape is great. My biggest trouble is then trying to convert to fabric. Sometimes fitting a fabric to my palette is tricky and other times it results in an unexpected combination. Congratulations on the book and thanks for a give away.

I see color inspiration outdoors, and in photos in books and magazines, and especially in my sewing room where at any time a couple fabrics may catch my eye and lead to inspiration. This book looks wonderful, thanks for the chance to win! Enjoy that grandbaby!

Inspiration comes, for me, from many things. Daily life, nature (especially sea life), and works of art that I love. ddechurc(at)indiana(dot)edu

I've been noticing the colors in some of my floral tops and think it would be fun to get the solids of those colors and see how they look together in a quilt!

Sometimes I get inspiration from nature, sometimes just from a particular print. Like you said - everywhere!

I find color inspiration everywhere, everyday, all over the place. It's there if you just look for it. Instead of thinking the leaves are green and the sky is blue, really really look at the colors you see. Colors are so much more than the image of it we've come to know. Love your City Quilts book by the way.

I get a lot of inspiration from some of the great photos that many bloggers share. That cerise really IS beautiful. My favorite is the Kona Tangerine! Thanks, Cherri, and congratulations on the new grandchild! I've got a new one, too!

This weekend I visited my daughter's college campus and boy they have a wonderful garden full of just magnificently colored flowers and greenery. So I guess I am mostly inspired by the colors I find in nature. The flowers I received for Mother's Day inspired me to get out my dyes and hand dye some laces and pieces of fabric! I also pounded color from the flowers...again nature. Of course one CANNOT help but be inspired by the cacophony of colors used by quilters, artist, sewist and such!!! I love color...see it everywhere! I look forward to seeing the quilt as I do admire how you use colors!!!

Hmmmm, I like both of those colors but it would be a challenge to use them together. I like a challenge, especially a quilting one!
Thanks for the giveaway!!

Just about everything inspires, especially what I see on people's blogs. I am not a very big fan of purple/lavendars but I do like the wisteria that you are showing - and the cherry. We have a lot of wisteria in our yard and tht color is the perfect match. Please count me in on the drawing for the book.

I'm so excited about the the Kona Kolors....... wow. And I am trying to make something right now that requires the Wisteria, so it couldn't have come at a better time!

Maybe this is strange, but I get most of my color inspiration from looking at other fabrics :) If I'm drawn to one particular print, I like to work around that one as a focal point for an entire project. Picking out complementary fabrics is the most fun!

I'm the same about finding inspiration for color everywhere. Sometimes I just want to look through gardening magazines or quilt books, or walk around the store looking at clothes. Congrats on the grandbaby:) Lovely way to spend your time. Looking forward to reading your story on the quilt pattern.

I actually find inspiration on the sidewalks/pavements. I walk A LOT so I am looking at the sidewalks all the time and the designs on the man hole covers, the sewer grills, the elecric board covers - it is all so awesome. I even take pictures of them for quilt designs!! Would LOVE to win!!

Congratulations on the new grandbaby. I recently got a glimpse of this book at Jo-Ann's and loved it. I'm wrestling with conscience on whether to go back and get it now or to wait. All of the projects looked divine.

Whenever I see a color combination I like, I make a note. My favorites are those that include blues or pinks. But I love all sorts of unique color combinations.

Most of my color inspiration comes from nature right around my house. In the summer we spend time kayaking and at the beach. There are always glorious combinations to be seen.
I can't wait to see the new Kona colors.
Enjoy the grandbaby.
