Happy New Year! I hope everyone is off to a good start. Mine was off to a bit of a rocky beginning - my furnace died on 1/1, and it actually gets cold in Houston. My sweet Mom came to the rescue once again by bringing me two space heaters. Thank goodness the repairs are going to be made tomorrow.
For the second year in a row I participated in Donna's Secret Santa Christmas Swap, and my Secret Santa was Narelle; and funny enough, I was her Secret Santa too. Rose made me this lovely bag, it's so well made - lots of detail, and little baby miniature quilt too.
Thank you Narelle!
So what happened this year? In January we released City Park, Animal Crossing, and our free pattern Girl Power, February we released Cherry Fizz, and celebrated our 100th post, and I created our first quilt for Cosmo Cricket! March was my big book giveaway - a total of 12 books! That was really fun! April was the release of our Sliced Fruit pattern, and I finished City News in time for the Portland Spring Market in May - which was definitely the highlight of that month. June was another free quilt pattern with Andover for Cosmo Cricket using their Halfway Cafe fabric line, and the release of our Candy Box pattern. July was super exciting because my quilt Jukebox was in Fons and Porter Easy Quilts magazine - that was really great! July was also the Interfaith Humanitarian Quilting Bee, which was so wonderful, and the best reason on earth for quilting - 400 quilts for those in need...what could be better? A second quilt in a magazine only made a great month even better. Plus we released Foreign Currency - one of my favorite quilts. August was crazy getting ready for Fall Market - who knew that Hurricane Ike was just around the corner. We also reformatted the pattern for City Scapes, and released it for sale. September - September 12th Hurricane Ike hit Galveston, and Houston; in some ways our lives were changed forever. On a happy note, Hey Sugar was released by Cosmo Cricket, and Andover. As soon as the power came back on after the storm, a crazy 4 quilts in two weeks frenzy began. October was wonderful - Lizzy Dish arrived! I couldn't have been more excited, and more proud. In November Lizzy had her BFA show - what a happy moment for her, and our family. Our free quilt pattern for Andover using Lizzy Dish was completed,
the pattern should be available anytime now. Also in November several of my quilts got to be on TV - which was cool. December...the most important event in December was Lizzy's graduation, such a proud moment! Lizzy Dish was released, and available for sale. Plus our free pattern for our Sugar Snap pattern became available.
What's up for 2009?
First - and most important...my son Luke found out that he will not have to go to Iraq for now, and he and his wife are expecting a new baby in August! Everything after that seems silly and insignificant. Nevertheless, I've got another quilt scheduled for Fons and Porter Easy Quilts - Spring issue I think, called Sweet Melissa, named after my own sweet Melissa, and another quilt in Quick Quilts Magazine called Florin. Lizzy has a new line of fabric coming out this Spring - which is just going to blow everyone away - so incredible!!! Also I've just about finished a new quilt using Amy Schimler's new fabric line Forest Fun. We will be releasing about 4 patterns in the next month. Stay tuned - it's going to be a crazy, wonderful ride.
Thank you for your friendship, and support!

I am wanting to purchase the fabric that you have used in the dotted quilt in the rocking chair that was also published in Fon's and Porter's Easy Quilts. Please share with me the name and pattern of the fabrics. Thank you! Rhonda
