Traditional, Contemporary, or Art???

Hi Quilters!  I'm lovin' reading all of the opinions & comments on quilting styles - we have lots of traditional quilters; plus some who (like myself) like traditional patterns with a contemporary twist.  Not too many art quilters, but plenty who see art quilts in their futures (some very distant futures). 

Here's my interpretation on a vintage/public domain pattern Chinese Coins...I removed the vertical sashing, and used solid fabrics - which gives the quilt a very contemporary feel, I think.

It seems most of the quilts being created by Kaffe Fassett are reinterpretations of vintage patterns, but they definitely appear contemporary with the fabric choices that are used.  As long as we never run out of fabric, I don't think we will ever run out of quilting opportunities.
