This week's drawing is well underway. Our question this week is WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE QUILTING STYLE, OR TECHNIQUE? This fits in well with the books being given away - Scraps Organized to Perfection by DeLoa Jones, and Focus on Features by Charlotte Warr Anderson, click here for the links. Leave a comment to be entered into this weeks drawing for these TWO BRAND NEW BOOKS!
So far we have lots of applique lovers, we also have fans of scrap quilts - the more fabric the better!!! Also we have a couple of rebels who love doing their own thing - breaking rules, coloring outside the lines, you know the kind (oh wait...that's me too).
So come join the fun it you haven't already - tell your friends - the more the merrier!
Favourite technique? Hard to pick -- hand piecing and backbasting for applique are tied in my mind as favourite techniques! Scrap quilts are definitely my favourites!

Is that a photo of one of your quilts? In your house? Behind your couch? Love it!

I do a traditional block here and there or someone else's patter (like yours!), but mostly I like doing my own thing. It's fun to experiment, try new things and see what I can come up with.

When my head stops turning, maybe I'll have a favorite style, but not yet! I do prefer things that are more contemporary though -- traditional blocks with a new twist, wonky piecing, brilliant colors.

I've just discovered needle turn applique and love it, also love scrayy quilts, although I do have a hard time trying to be random in my placement.

I love all styles of quilting but I'm a real fan of applique and I love batiks!

I haven't had time to really sit down and figure out what exactly my style is. I'm too busy making baby and bed quilts for family members. I have been quilting since '91 and really only have made 1 for myself, and I have made dozens of quilts!! Wow. Never really thought about that too much before now. I do love shortcuts that result in multiple squares being produced without sewing half square triangles together etc, like Billie Lauder does. Those are fun to learn.

Love your blog. My favorite quilting style is improvisational, scrappy, bright colors, artsy, but not too complex. I rarely follow a pattern exactly, but use it as a starting point or inspiration.

I am brand new to quilting so picking a style is hard, since I only know a few. I would say I love scrappy quilts but then I looked at the ones you and Lizzy design. They are simple yet elegant designs...but the fabrics you use are stunning. I am just learning applique as well. I guess at the moment I love them all. Cant wait for the Soda Pop one! Love Stacy
