Long distance mothering

So last Friday Ashlee had a concert in Pocatello, and the girls, plus my Aunt Shirley, and my cousin Tami were able to attend.  It was a great night!  Ashlee played her show, and on one song, Lizzy and Melissa were able to join her, singing 3 part harmony.  It hurt my heart to miss it, but I was happy for Ashlee, and everyone who was there. 

Fast forward to Monday night, and I get a call from Melissa saying that she fell down while rollerskating and really hurt her elbow.  She went to the doctor yesterday to get it x-rayed, and can you believe it - it's broke.  I had to look up on the Internet, what exactly that means "fractured elbow".  It's not good.  She's waiting for a reading from the radiologist on what is actually broke.  She can't get dressed herself, she can't cook for herself, so many things that you take for granted, she can't do for herself.  Lizzy has been taking care of her the best that she can, but what she really needs is her Momma. 

Long distance mothering from 2000 miles away will never be easy.

Aw, Cherri, I know that this is the kind of stuff that makes my mom crazy when she's far from one of us. Hey, but the silver lining is that you get to see proof of how well you raised your kids in the way the look after one another, right? :)
