I'm down to the quilting on my latest Cherry House Quilts quilt. The pattern is ready to go, I'll finish the quilting, do the binding, Lizzy will do the photo shoot, we'll get the promotional literature ready, and the pattern will be up for sale. The pattern is traditional, and the fabric is contemporary - the best of both worlds, our signature Cherry House Quilts style.
I find the best way to get into my quilting groove is to put on my little ipod shuffle that the girls bought me for Christmas, listen to my favorite artists...Sting (big sigh...Sting), Annie Lennox, The Gung Hoes, Guster, Chris Botti, and all my euro dance music...my kids roll their eyes at that one. I can quilt till the thread breaks, or the bobbin runs out, or my shoulders cry out in protest. I love it when it all comes together, and everything is working in sync.
Well, I've got to get back to it...
P.S. Lizzy has gone back to school, and I miss her so much!
I like that quilting already.

Look at those even stitches! Machine quilting scares me, I'm afraid I would have no control..quilt flying all over the place. Hand quilting is soothing but boy does it take a long time!

I'm in awe of anyone who can quilt like that. It looks great! It also looks like you have the Bernina with the stitch regulator. I would love that!

Hi - I just love your blog and your quilting is amazing. Have you machine quilted on Minkee fabric? I'm about to get started quilting with some minkee used for the backing. I was told to only use my walking foot for the quilting with this fabric. I'm wondering once I'm done with the walking foot, if I can do some free motion quilting. Any suggestions???
thank you in advance for any advice you can share with me!

Oooh, that machine quilting is wonderful! Is it hard to do a pattern like that? I'm getting tired of stipple quilting and need to try something new and exciting! Do you have any practice/learning suggestions?
