outfoxed by a peeping pilgrim.

So I got my Hello Pilgrim strike-offs in today.... It's crazy to think that we sent in artwork in the first week of August, and here it is with me on fabric. FOR NEXT YEAR. I like being ahead, but I feel like I am keeping a lot of things from you.

I really like seeing how 1001 Peeps, Outfoxed, and Hello Pilgrim are all playing together. All I can really say is that I am building you a rainbow. I'm also working on a fun/ amusing project that I should be able to show you this weekend. And maybe you'll want to participate too.

Market is just around the corner, and it seems like I am getting new fabric every month, and I live in a tiny place people.... so! I am doing a special, very limited edition fabric sale. Each box will contain fabric from Lizzy Dish, Red Letter Day, Castle Peeps, 1001 Peeps, and Outfoxed!

There are 15 boxes total and each box is a USPS Priority Mail Medium flat rate box and will be filled to the brim with pieces of fabric ranging from a couple of inches, to strips, to fat quarter sized. Some of the fabric is left over from projects, and others are just extra I have laying around! These are all functional pieces, no string pieces... these aren't really scraps, people.

I'm trying my best to put a full range of color in each box, so that you could potentially make The Colorist a couple times over with one of these boxes.

I just wanted to pop my head in and say that the Peep Boots pattern is now available here! For just $6.95. A Christmas Miracle!

Also, each of the Peep Boots shown are for sale, and they will be listed in my shop. Each boot/ stocking uses either Red Letter Day, or Castle Peeps, and a few have some Moda cross weave on them. They are each quilted and use some of my most treasured ribbon collection. Also they use my very favorite ribbon in the world, Angela Ligouri's Italian cotton ribbon. Each boot has a name... obviously.

Along with the boots, there will be some handmade books, and some champion ribbons added too.

Oh, if you are looking for some holiday laughs, I highly recommend my little sister's blog. She is doing her own 25 days of Christmas, by analyzing Christmas songs, and it seriously could not be funnier.

I was beside myself when my Marble Champ quilt from way back when Red Letter Day came out, came home to me. When you do a quilt for a line, it is usually on tour till the fabric isn't technically for sale anymore... although, I did hear whisperings of the fact there Andover still has some skus of Red Letter Day, if that means anything to any shops...

Anyway. I am moved. My place is very sweet, and very drafty. I am still getting set up, and I feel like I won't really be back on my feet until everything is in its place. I will post more pictures, and even a little video when everything is the way it should be!

A HUGE SURPRISE!

Today when we went into our local quilt shop, I saw a roll of fabric that looked startlingly like my blue Pearl Bracelet from Red Letter Day.

On closer examination I realized IT WAS MY PEARL BRACELET FROM RED LETTER DAY. IN A LAMINATE.

David (the president of Andover) had talked about doing this at Spring Market, and I knew that the fabric had been printed... but it literally wasn't until I walked into It's A Stitch that I realized that it had actually been made, sold and shipped. So I bought a yard and a half of my own laminate to try and get a few little projects together before market next week. Another last minute thing you know...

In all of my traveling, and designing, I forgot to mention that my quilt made the cover of Quick Quilts Magazine!

the quilt is called, "Dîner de Canard," which when translated to English means, Duck Diner. The quilt uses pieces from both Lizzy Dish and Red Letter Day to tell a story, only you are the one who decides how the story goes.

with simple strip piecing, this is my take on the classic Chinese coins, and it goes together in a flash! Or like duck soup! No really! I made my the whole top in 8-10 hours!

So get your cute little self to a grocery store that sells Quick Quilts magazine, and pick up a copy of this beauty, and maybe some ingredients for supper? And there I will be waiting, on page 34 and 35 to help you answer the age old question, what's for dinner?

Marble Champ Pattern

As promised here it is! When you start reading it, don't be alarmed. You don't have to applique the circles. There must have been some misunderstanding along the way and the pattern instructs you to applique. If you are all about that, then go for it! But if you are not one of those peeps, here is the best solution in the world!

Dale Fleming wrote a book called Pieced Curves So Simple that she released with C&T publishing, and in it she explains how to piece and sew curves without pins! Luckily, Dale did a segment showing how to do the six minute circle.

The Red Letter Day flickr pool is growing! I am so happy that peeps are loving the fabric. Here are some of the things I am loving!

Red Letter Day LIST!

Here is the list that I am aware of. I have received emails from TWO! brick and mortar shops, so I'm kind of in the dark about who has it, and I know there are more than two... SOOO!!!! If you see it in your local shop let me know and we'll post it so all peeps every where can get their little hands on Red Letter Day! Also, if they don't have it, ask them to get it. Never hurts to ask. Sweet talk them and sweeten the deal with the free pattern... and about that free pattern. I promise I will let everyone know when Andover publishes it. I PROMISE!!!

Introducing Marble Champ

Introducing Marble Champ! The first quilt made with Red Letter Day. Designed, made, quilted and bound by me! How cool is that?

So along with each piece in Red Letter Day telling a story, I wanted a quilt that would as well. I don't know if kids still play marbles, but I remember really loving them. I liked the clinking sound that the little glass balls made when they hit each other, and I loved looking inside each of them. What were those weird swirls made of, and how did they get them in there? Questions like these... Marble Champ tells the story of the triumphant peep who has won all the best marbles. It is just another manifestation of someone who is having a Red Letter Day.

anyway Marble Champ is (drum roll please) a FREE! pattern that I designed for each of you, like my mom's pattern for Lizzy Dish, that will be released with Andover very shortly. So I will keep you posted with that.
