A LizzyDish contest. But Baby, it's cold outside!
I am having the hardest time staying warm!!! It has come to me carrying a quilt with me most places I go. Like Linus. I don't mind. Also, we don't seem to have a heater anymore, why? I'm not sure. But I have taken to turning on the oven, boiling some tea, and drinking it in front of the oven door, open. It works.
some updates, laced with a contest:
I have been hugged so much in the past week, that I have been overflowing with happiness. Makes me want to give more hugs. It's not that I don't like being hugged, I guess I am just all about how people go about it. Does that make sense? Some people have entitlement issues, and I have issues with them.
LizzyDish! has been made into its first quilt! What a dream Mom I have. It's called HouseWares. Which is funny for two reasons. 1. It's my last name. 2. LizzyDish is kitchen stuff, and in essence, house wares...
i'm just kidding around. But really though... don't be afraid to use the utensils in a quilt.
Also, for those of you peeps who haven't seen all of the fabric you can go to Andovers website, and check it all out.
I am finishing some printing this week for all my Etsy Christmas stuff. And let me just say If you are into whales and the like... this is your Christmas. Also, with the first 5 purchases on Friday I will include a set of Cathedral Cards. Cool huh?
ps to all that. I have a whole stack of LizzyDish waiting to be something. Maybe it wants to be a give-away? Finally I have a little time to do something. What should it be? It isn't out in stores until December I am told, so would anyone want to be the recipient of some contraband LizzyDish!? Say a stack of 12 fat quarters? You certainly could make something from that...
So here is the contest. Give me your best idea to use LizzyDish, and say something you are Thankful for. A simple task. I will decide and announce it on Friday.
My Thanksgiving to you.

I would like to figure out how to make a washable Roman Shade for the big window in my kitchen (goes to about 8 inches off the ground)... Because the window goes so low, the cats like to sit there and get fur all over the not-so-washable Roman shade that's there now... so I think I need to make one - wouldn't a custom-made patchwork washable Roman shade be cute?
OR, you could use the different colorways to create a table setting for each person - mine would be the pinks!

I love your blog and your new fabric line! Best wishes for much success with it. I'd LOVE to win the fat quarters ... I'd gladly make my mom a table runner and/or kitchen wallhanging for Christmas. Maybe some placemats and napkins, too? Very ambitious of me. As for what I'm thankful for, that's easy: my beautiful wife and my three healthy children. Have a great Thanksgiving!

Such lovely fabric! If I won it, I would use it to make something like this: http://www.livingcreatively.com.au/community/create_now_project.php?v=16. Except I would make it for my teeny-tiny kitchen, to hold wooden spoons, spatulas, wine openers, etc. All the stuff I just don't have enough space to store!
And I am thankful for the fact that at 10pm tonight, I get on a plane to fly to Ohio to meet my niece for the first time. Yay!

I'd make napkins because they'd coordinate well with my faux leather placemats that I am totally thankful for since they wipe sooooo easily! Or perhaps a vintage inspired apron. Yeah, I'd make an apron with LizzyDish. Who wouldn't be thankful for being able to provide for one's family?!
Congratulations to you for finishing your BFA so spectacularly and for creating a beautiful, whimsical fabric line that is obviously just the beginning of a fruitful career. :-)

I'd make reusable wraps for frozen cookie dough logs to gift to neighbors and friends. Love it!
I'm thankful for my daughters. One weighed 1 lb. 12oz. at the birth and the other weighed 3lb. 7oz. They are healthy and vibrant little ladies!

Hmmm...I might try making some pretty little ornaments or a doll quilt.
I'm thankful for my family and their continued health and happiness.

What a great bundle of fq's, I think I'd uyse it for a pcnic quilt and matching hamper for all the equipment to be stored in. I'm thankful for my family, even though they are on the other side of the world......

oh I think this one might be obvious, but I would love a set of kitchen towels made out of the utensil fabric. OR oven mitts Or an apron or a liner for my bike basket to take on picnics or a heck just a skirt - it's cute stuff!

Congratulations on your BFA.
With your fabulous fabrics I would make patchwork pot holders and tea towels. Or maybe a cute baby dress and a pair of pants for my twin God children.
I am grateful for every day & everything that unfolds each day & for my family and friends who bring so much love and laughter to my life.

I would SO love some rogue LizzyDish! I really enjoy the excitement and enthusiasm that comes through here. It's a bright spot in a sometimes otherwise dull gray day. I am thankful for lizzyhouse! (Also, for my wonderful understanding best friend/husband, but it's hard to compete with sewing and fabrics.... ;)

Awesome! I'd probably make a small waist apron with the fat quarters... I'm really into making aprons lately! :)
I'd have to say that I am thankful for my talented parents who are always quick to teach me new things... from plumbing and landscaping to sewing and canning, they love to pass their wisdom on and I have a feeling I'll be doing the same when/if I have kids in the future.

Hola! What a beautiful Christmas present that would make! Perfect for an apron, kitchen towels, a curtain, so many options!!
I am thankful for the peaceful life my daughter and I now lead, it is tough at times being a single mom but nothing beats our freedom!
Happy holidays and I hope I win!!!

It would make cute napkins, wouldn't it? But I'd probably use it in a quilt. Of course, I am thankful for my family - the sweetest kids in the whole wide world!

Ooooh, very pretty! I'd really like to complete a blankie for my niece who is 3 years old and *loves* bright colors. Usually she picks pretty nice things, instead of the garish, and I think she'd really like your fabric!
I am thankful for my wonderful boyfriend and for having the opportunity to get closer to my parents this last year.

I would think it would be fun in placemats!

What a fun giveaway! I think I would make a quilt, such bright colors and fun prints.
I'll bet YOU are thankful that your are almost finished with school. I am thankful to God for my family, health and our new home.

I would make an apron and/or placemats. I like the idea of framing some of it for the kitchen or dining room as well. I am thankful for being able to go home and join my family for Thanksgiving and my mom's birthday this year.

So adorable, these fabric designs of yours!
I LOVE handbags and totes and re-useable grocery totes and...well, bags of any kind. So...if I won, I would most definitely sew up some type of bag.
This year, I am most thankful for my aging parents ability to slowly-but-surely recover from their very hectic year.

Oh I would make a quilt!
I am so thankful that I am able to enjoy my family this Thanksgiving!

I wouldn't be able to decide which piece to use, so I'd put them all together into a cute patchwork insulated lunch bag for work!
I'm thankful for Thanksgiving dinner, love, and do-overs in life.

First of all, I'm really thankful for my wonderful family. I'm also thankful that I've found so many fantastic and inspiring blogs this year!
I *adore* that fabric! I can definitely see it as a set of coordinating aprons and towels for my MIL!

I found your web site through True Up. The fabric is so cute. I'm just starting to sew again after many years. I have been wanting to do a kitchen towel project that this fabric would work great for!
I am thankful for a nice, cozy home that will keep my little family warm this winter.

I'm thankful for my friends and family, who rock.
I'd use that awesome fabric to make patchwork baskets for my friends, as I try to give out baskets of cookies for the holidays.
